Resort, But Make It Fall

Sage Green Collared Sweater Dress at a lodge — Eltenaj Fall Capsule

Resort doesn't only mean hot weather. People take resort trips in cooler climates too — lodge stays, mountain getaways, cold-weather escapes where the view is pines instead of palms and dinner happens by a fire instead of a beach. So we built the trip wardrobe for that version.

Resort, But Make It Fall is Eltenaj's first fall capsule: the resort wardrobe dressed for cooler weather. Sweater dresses, matching sets, and layers made to be packed, worn on repeat, and photographed at a lodge. The capsule is ten pieces, and it was built as one wardrobe.

Here's how we'd pack it.

Travel Day: Land Ready

The trip starts in the car or the airport, and the first outfit has to survive the drive and still look right when you walk into the lodge.

Start with the base layer that does the most work in the whole suitcase: the Mock Neck Ribbed Bodysuit ($24.90). It comes in black or white on one listing, and it's the piece that goes under everything else in this drop — sweaters, the shacket, whatever the weather decides that day.

Over it, the Black Sweat Jogger Pants ($44.90): proper travel-day comfort that still reads as an outfit when you arrive, not pajamas. Then the layer you'll live in all weekend — the Plaid Oversized Shacket ($69.90). It's your plane layer, your chilly-morning layer, and your thrown-over-everything answer to mountain weather changing its mind, which it will.

Lodge Days: Slow Mornings, Small Towns

Fall getaway days are unscripted — coffee on the porch, a drive into town, a long lunch, maybe a wander through the local shops. These are the pieces that handle all of it without a costume change.

The Brown Cropped Sweater Top ($39.90) is the easy one: a rich brown that runs the whole fall palette, worn with the high-waisted pieces you already packed. The Black Crop Top and High Waisted Pants Set ($44.90) takes the thinking out of getting dressed entirely — a matching set, one decision, done, and the two pieces separate cleanly into the rest of the suitcase if you want them to.

And when the day drifts toward a nicer dinner without going back to the room first, the Brown Mock Neck Top and Maxi Skirt Set ($54.90) is the day-to-evening piece: polished enough for the restaurant in town, easy enough for everything before it.

Fireside Evenings: The Dress Code After Dark

Evenings are what this drop was really built for — dinner at the lodge, drinks by the fire, the photos everyone actually keeps.

There are two sweater dresses, because one is never enough on a trip like this. The Sage Green Collared Sweater Dress ($54.90) is the soft, muted green that belongs against wood and stone and firelight. The Mocha Collared Sweater Dress ($54.90) is its deeper, moodier sister — same dressed-without-trying shape, a completely different after-dark energy. Pack one or alternate both across a long weekend.

The drop's maxi moment is the Orange Rust Ruching Cut-Out Maxi Dress ($49.00) — full-length, in the exact rust tone of the leaves outside the window. It's the dress for the best dinner of the trip.

And the finishing piece: the Black Long Fringe Cardigan ($69.90). Wear it over either sweater dress, over the maxi, over the bodysuit and joggers on the last slow morning — it's the dramatic layer that makes a simple outfit look styled, and it moves when you do.

One Suitcase, Ten Pieces

The quiet trick of this drop is that it was built as one wardrobe, in one palette — sage, mocha, brown, rust, and black — so the pieces keep recombining across the whole trip. The bodysuit works under the cropped sweater one day and the shacket the next. The cardigan finishes the sweater dresses, the maxi, and the travel outfit with equal conviction. The shacket you wore on the drive up is the same one that goes over the skirt set when the temperature drops at dinner. Ten pieces, and most of them earn their space in the bag two or three times before the weekend is over. That's the whole idea: pack like a resort trip, dress for the weather that's actually there.

How to Shop It

The Fall Capsule is available now at eltenaj.com. New capsules land each season, and the email list always hears first — join at eltenaj.com.

One honest note on quantities: this is a small capsule — 35 pieces across the whole collection, and some pieces only exist in a handful of sizes. That's the real number, not a countdown trick. When a size sells out, it doesn't come back.

Orders ship in 1–2 business days, with U.S. delivery in 3–7 business days after that. U.S. shipping is free on orders of $75 or more ($8.99 under that) — two pieces from this drop will clear that line on their own.

Pack for the lodge. Fall is a resort season now.
